Xi'an Women's Federation (XWF), in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, hosted a special round table meeting for local on November 7 to discuss economic construction and the contribution of women in the country's nine central cities.
The meeting aimed to initiate an innovative platform for women's development and cooperation; strengthen communication in economic, cultural and technological areas; deepen cooperation among the central cities; and, make full use of the unique role of women in promoting urban development.
Sun Xingjuan, vice-director of the United Front Work Department of Xi'an Municipal Party Committee, attended the gathering and delivered a speech on behalf of the local municipal Party committee and government.
Sun affirmed the achievements made by women in terms of city construction. She said Xi'an is planning to optimize the local business environment by pursuing high standards of legalization, internationalization, facilitation, efficiency, cost reduction, quality services and integrity.
also plans to become an exemplary city in promoting the development of the private economy. It will support entrepreneurs and help them start their own businesses, added Sun.
Later, Sun shared her insights on policies and the social environment. She hoped female entrepreneurs at the gathering could strengthen their cooperation and communication and work together to achieve common development.
At the event, representatives from the nine cities gave speeches, and shared experiences regarding their participation in economic construction.
Zhu Feng, founder of a multimedia video platform in Shanghai, said the activity has deepened her understanding of Xi'an and strengthened her confidence to start another business there.
Yue Rong, general manager of the Kehua Insight Venture Capital, an entrepreneur from Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province, said the aerospace and intelligent manufacturing technology industries in Xi'an are developing well and she is optimistic about the investment and business environment in the city.
At the end of the event, Ren Wei, deputy head of the Xi'an Investment Service Cooperation, introduced local business investment projects, spoke about four leading industries in Xi'an, its five unique advantages, 10 preferential policies in the city and 10 major local projects.
Other participants at the event included: Dang Jie, vice-president and member of the Leading Party Group of Shaanxi Women's Federation; Wang Wenzhan, vice-president of the Xi'an Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and, Zhou Jing, vice-president of Beijing Women's Federation.
They were joined by officials from women's federations at all levels and some 200 female entrepreneurs, among others.
